Why Switch From the Ford Escape to Ford Bronco Sport?

It was recently announced that the current model year Ford Escape will be the popular crossover SUV’s last. To be sure, the Escape was an incredible compact crossover SUV option that was comfortable, efficient and well-equipped with the latest technology. If you’ve been an Escape fan, Fairway Ford would like to introduce you to the idea of switching to the current Ford Bronco Sport. As good as the Escape was as a comprehensive commuter platform, the Bronco Sport takes things a little further by leaning into its rugged Bronco DNA. Follow along while we take a closer look.

Bronco Sport vs. Escape: Performance Specs

If you’ve come to love how your Ford Escape performs in traffic or in terms of efficiency, a potential transition to the Bronco Sport will be easy since both SUVs use the same available engine equipment, making the same amount of power. Additionally, both SUVs can record nearly identical fuel economy scores of just over 9.0 L/100 km in the city and under 8.0 L/100 km on the highway.

One area where the Bronco Sport really excels is in off-road performance. All-wheel drive is standard across the current Bronco Sport lineup. Even if someone doesn’t plan on trail driving, the enhanced traction control system will do well in snowy or icy conditions.

Which Has More Space, the Bronco Sport or the Escape?

Convenience is the name of the game in the SUV segment. When people are using the rear seat in the Ford Bronco Sport, there is still about 920 litres of cargo volume to use. Folding the rear seat down more than doubles the SUV’s cargo volume to 1,846. Both outpace what the outgoing Ford Escape offers.

Additionally, the current Bronco Sport has approximately the same dimensions for front and rear legroom as the Ford Escape.
