The heart of any pickup truck is the powertrain that lies under its hood. Ford has made a turbocharged gas engine and a hybrid option available. Both produce very strong performance scores for this newly emerging segment.

Towing and Payload
A base 2026 Maverick with either engine platform has a peak towing capacity of 907 kg (2,000 lbs.). The available towing package can be applied across the board to double the capacity to 1,814 kg (4,000 lbs.). Payload figures depend on which trim grade and engine is chosen, but the top mark comes in at 680 kg.

Flexible Interior Features
The interior of the 2026 Maverick is as flexible as the rest of the truck. Up to five people can ride in the two rows of seats. ActiveX® upholstery is available on several trims, making clean-up after a hard day at work as easy as possible. Additionally, the cabin is packed with several small-item storage solutions, including under the rear seat and in the door pockets.
Work-Ready Exterior
Ford worked hard to pack as much capability into the 2026 Maverick as possible. The cargo bed offers 943 litres of volume when the tailgate is closed. A full-size sheet of plywood can comfortably fit between the wheel wells. A pair of 12-volt power outlets is equipped in the truck’s bed, making it possible to use power tools or appliances on the road.
